Costume Requirements

Demonstrators are required to wear a Renaissance or Medieval costume. Glastonbury is set in the period 900–1585 AD.

Costumes may be based on:

  • English folklore
  • Medieval clothing
  • Elizabethan/Renaissance attire from the time period

If visitors ask about your costume, you should be able to explain it.

Weapons:
If weapons are part of your costume or demonstration, they must be peace-tied when outside the demonstration area. Demonstrators are responsible for providing their own peace ties.

Booth Requirements

If you have a booth within your demonstration area, it must be decorated in the style of Medieval or Tudor England.

Please note:

  • No modern-looking signs (plastic, neon, etc.)
  • This is a small site; large booths cannot be accommodated
  • Clearly mark all guy wires to reduce accidents
  • Displays must be designed to withstand wind

Application Deadline

Acceptance is determined on a case-by-case basis.
If space is not available this year, you may be considered for a future year.

Set-Up & Show Hours

The Faire is open 10:00 am – 5:30 pm both days.
Public ticket gates open at 9:45 am.

Friday Set-Up:

  • 7:00 am – 8:00 pm
  • No set-up after 8:00 pm without prior approval from the Director

Saturday Set-Up:

  • 7:00 am – 9:00 am
  • Vehicles must be removed by 9:30 am

Tear-Down:

  • Booths may not be taken down and vehicles may not enter the site until 6:30 pm, when the show officially ends

Additional Policies:

  • On-site security provided from Friday through Monday morning
  • All pets must be leashed and cleaned up after
  • Camping and demonstration areas must be kept clear of debris and garbage
  • Failure to follow rules may result in expulsion from the Faire

On-Site Camping

Demonstrators may camp on-site Friday through Monday, either:

  • In your demonstration area, or
  • In the Vendors-n-Actors’ Camping Area

Important Notes:

  • Above-ground fires are not permitted
  • Camping space is limited

Indemnity & Hold Harmless Agreement

All demonstrators release Coastal Muses, the City of Toledo, and the Port of Toledo from responsibility for any damage, loss of property, or personal injury sustained while participating in the Glastonbury Renaissance Faire.

Participants agree to:

  • Abide by all rules, policies, and guidelines

Indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Coastal Muses, its volunteers, the City of Toledo, and the Port of Toledo from any liability arising from participation in the Faire
